Seasons Greetings

As we close in on the Festive Season – although I was reliably informed that in medieval society, it went from mid-November to early February and became a time of excess dominated by a great feast, gifts for rich and poor and general indulgence in eating, drinking, dancing and singing – I thought I should give you another nudge about the Website.

Yes, I know I haven’t added much to it, but I am keen to see evidence of more on the mailing list viewing and providing feedback. I have a back room on the site, and it tells me who has been naughty or nice you know!

Although it isn’t necessary to subscribe, I do encourage you to do so – check the guide in the early BlogPost on the site to navigate the process if you need further guidance. And there are still several Subscribers wjo might like to Edit their Profile and overtype the WordPress allocated name. Think of all this as providing a Christmas gift – see above – and I will do my bit for the rest of the seasonal shenanigans; although I suspect dancing and singing on my behalf will not make the cut.

Anyway, putting such frivolities aside, I do wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. And I hope those negotiating ongoing health issues – we seem to be gathering a few more of these as we are all into our 8th decade now – do so with panache and alacrity and keep the hounds of ageing at bay. And remember, we are always here for each other – the Gunner Net is always on the air!

Thank you David, and Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. The website looks good – you have certainly put a great deal of work into it.

thank you Dave. It’s been a very good year. I still regret. I didn’t make the 50th last year but not too sure we’re going to have any more anyway. Best wishes to all if any of you ever ever ever in Kiwi land there are still some of us left.

Hello Tom – Nothing concrete in the works but the consensus seems to be to target something major at the 55 year mark in 2028. But preferably not in Canberra – and also encourage regional gatherings and solicit any passing itinerants to attend. This has worked well in BrisVegas and indeed in NZ. It just needs a core group in each region to take up the gauntlet. In Melb, Pete Stevens and I have regular lunches and try and get Ian and Deb Lillie and George and Anna Watts to join us when they can. In fact, we hope to see them on my deck this coming Boxing Day.
