I have just picked up on the sad news that Mike Fairbrother has lost his battle with cancer.

Mike died last evening.

I spoke briefly to Lorraine this morning and she said Mike had gone downhill quite markedly in the last week or so and that “it was his time to go”. Needless to say, Lorraine and the family will be grieving now, and she will advise funeral arrangements in due course.

I’m sure we would all wish to pass on our condolences to Lorraine and the family.
